AUCTION FOR PREK SDEY PURSAT SCHOOL - CAMBODIA
Auctions will also be held for the children of the Cardiology Ward of the Polish Mother's Memorial Health Centre in Łódź (Santa presents) and, if necessary, for a person in need of help (Veteran, Association Member or their family).
The first auction will take place in early May.
Colleagues, if you have items at home that you would like to donate for the auction, please write to me on priv.
Details will be provided at a later date.
I invite you all to participate in this endeavour.
The day at a Cambodian school starts early in the morning. In the school courtyard, pupils, teachers and management gather to take part in an assembly. Children arrive at school on foot or on bicycles, often from very far away. But no one is late, no one whines about having to stand at attention. All the children have a smile on their face. They are looking forward to learning new things and having a nice but busy time. For many pupils, school is a substitute for a better world - neat uniforms, brick walls, a break from work. School is not just a place where they can learn to read and write. It is also a space where children learn many other valuable skills. They learn mutual responsibility, caring, order. They help each other. They are one big family in which everyone has a role. During lessons, the children teach each other various practical activities. They give lectures and instructions on how to brush their teeth properly, for example, and as part of their physical activities, they learn traditional Khmer dances. The desire and need to learn is great in these children, so they meet after school and organise extra activities for themselves. They teach each other how to write, they read books together. It is fantastic that in this day and age - smartphones, television, the internet - there are still communities that enjoy real, tangible being together.
There is still a lot of work to be done at the school ( as you can see from the photos). Many school things are missing (in the classrooms) and sanitary facilities (toilets , sinks, showers), playing fields, playground and school supplies, books for pupils.
The number of students is still growing, so if you would like to support and contribute in some way with us Veterans and Members of the Association of Veterans of the United Nations Peacekeeping Mission in Cambodia 1992 - 1993, you are most welcome and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

CAMBODIA, PURSAT PROVINCE - PREK SDEY SCHOOL
As Veterans of the United Nations Peacekeeping Mission in Cambodia from 1992 to 1993, while we were there we helped as much as we could and now after so many years we also want to help and give children a better start in adulthood and a pass to a better life for the children of Cambodia.
The day at a Cambodian school starts early in the morning. In the school courtyard, pupils, teachers and management gather to take part in an assembly. Children arrive at school on foot or on bicycles, often from very far away. But no one is late, no one whines about having to stand at attention. All the children have a smile on their face.
